Marketing Through
The Angel Whisper
Marketing is an important part
of any holistic practitioners work. But what I find is that it is the
most neglected part of most practitioners work.
In fact I relate many holistic workers as hobbiests, pretending that
they are in business. Before I go any further I do want to say that
many times this is due to the lack of training.
I do not blame any practitioner on how they run their business as it is
only a mirror of what they have learned so far. Where are you in the
process?
Let's first define marketing!
Marketing
is nothing more then building a client base on purpose. It is
developing a plan that brings people to you so that you can sell them
on what you do.
Marketing can be as simple as asking for referrals, like so many of us
do. Yet are you working with all your eggs in that one basket? The
difference between a successful practitioner and one that is a hobbiest
is simple...
Are
you bringing in more clients every day?
If you say yes you are well on your way, but if you say how do I do
that then we can help develop a marketing plan that will bring success
and your gifts to the world.
A simple marketing plan is just to let
people know you are in business. Sending
cards or postcards in one of the easiest and cheapest ways to
begin. Let
people know what you do and ask them in your cards to come see you or
send others so that they can benefit from your work.
Never send out cards or postcards without a plan of what you want to
acchieve from them. If you set a plan up before you market you will
find that you will get better results. And the number one reason for
marketing is to get results you can life with.
Do you give discounts?
This is the question many practitioners have a strong opinion about.
Some will say NO WAY! While others give away the farm. What I have
found is that you can give discounts to either get them to understand
what you do or to give a package that gets them to come to you more
then once.
Now those of you that say NO WAY, are you getting more clients and old
clients coming back? If you say no to either of those questions I
suggest you set up a marketing plan that will do both, bring them back
and get new clients.
Those of you wanting to give away the farm, WHY? The first place you
need to work on is yourself. I find those that want to give everything
away or trade are those that do not have enough self confidence to
charge what you are worth. Let them taste it, yet give just enough that
they want more.
Have you ever gone to the grocery store and been given a sample? They
give you a small sample and then tell you how you can get more. Not
everyone buys, but if they continue to do the sampling they must have
some success.
So now we have talked about:
There are so many more and it
is your job as a practitioner to learn them just as well as you know
how to perform your holistic work.
The key is to drive people to
you! It's that simple! Yet very few people concentrate on developing
that client base.
